Abundant celebrations to light up Hohhot this Spring Festival

At a news conference held on Jan 22, Hohhot unveiled its 2025 Spring Festival and Lantern Festival cultural activities. From Jan 22 to Feb 12 (the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month to the 15th day of the 1st lunar month), nearly 30 public cultural events will take place across the city.
Highlights include a city flash mob, the 4th Hohhot Happy Ice and Snow Festival Spring Festival-themed activities, Hohhot Museum's grand exhibition of Snake Year cultural relics and cultural creativity space, the 2025 Spring Festival cultural temple fair, and the inaugural "Fantasy Monishan" Shanhaijing-themed light show.
The cultural fair will run from Feb 3 to Feb 12 (Lantern Festival) at various locations, including Saishang Old Street, Hohhot Sculpture Art Museum, and Monishan Intangible Cultural Heritage Town.
Standout events include the "Flying Dragon" aerial display on Feb 3 at Saishang Old Street's main stage, the "Lantern Festival Night Show" at the West City Gate on Feb 12, and the immersive Chinese fashion parade at the Hohhot Sculpture Art Museum on Feb 5. These activities will serve as the highlights of this year's cultural temple fair.
Additionally, from Feb 5 to Feb 12, an intangible cultural heritage opera showcase will be held daily from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Daguanyuan Theater, Hongyan Theater, and Monishan Intangible Cultural Heritage Town. A total of 300 free tickets will be available each day.
What's more, Hongyan Theater will host special performances of traditional Chinese-style children's plays.
