During the 2025 Spring Festival holiday, which ran from Jan 28 to Feb 4, China Railway Hohhot Bureau transported 784,000 passengers, averaging 98,000 a day. Hohhot Baita International Airport also experienced high travel demand, handling 239,000 passengers and 2,255 takeoffs and landings.

The bureau added up to 21 extra daily trains and arranged 32 high-speed train couplings to boost capacity. The trains primarily served key cities in central and western Inner Mongolia and routes from Hohhot and Baotou to Beijing, Xi'an, and northeastern China. The peak travel day was Feb 4, when 156,000 passengers were transported.

As the last day of the holiday, Feb 4 also saw the airport's return travel peak with 34,000 passengers transported and an 82.9-percent seat occupancy rate.
