During the 2025 Qingming Festival holiday from April 4 to 6, Hohhot's cultural tourism market recorded 1.47 million tourist visits, up 11.69 percent year-on-year, and generated 996 million yuan ($136.25 million) in revenue, a 5.96 percent increase.
Three major themed events were key in driving local consumption and energizing the spring economy: the Second Kite Art Season, which drew over 48,000 visitors; the Fantasy Animal Adventure at Daqingshan Wildlife Park, which combined Chinese aesthetics, interactive performances, and science education; and the Second Peach Blossom Festival at the Princess' Mansion Museum, which offered hanfu strolls, cultural workshops, and creative markets.
The events complemented each other and boosted holiday spending, with creative tourism projects contributing over 60 percent of the total revenue. With some activities still underway, another wave of tourism-driven consumption is expected in mid-April, marking a strong start for Hohhot's cultural tourism in 2025.
