Hohhot's cashmere industry develops with high quality
Hohhot's cashmere industry benefits from abundant natural resources, a strong industrial foundation, and comprehensive support facilities. Since its inception, the city's wool textile sector has developed a complete cashmere industry chain.

Hohhot is now a globally renowned production base for cashmere scarves, producing over 24 million scarves and shawls, and 2 million cashmere sweaters annually. High-end cashmere scarves from Hohhot account for 80 percent of the global market share. In 2024, Hohhot cashmere industry production base earned multiple accolades. Companies within the base own 164 domestic and international trademarks and 71 patents.
In October 2020, the geographical indication trademarks "Hohhot Cashmere" and "Hohhot Cashmere Scarf" were successfully approved. The Hohhot Cashmere Association organized major enterprises to unify branding and participate in 11 domestic and international exhibitions. The association also led the development of two group standards and registered trademarks with regional cultural characteristics, completing the visual identity system including brand logos and mascots.
In recent years, the Hohhot municipal bureau of commerce has supported the industry by organizing training sessions and providing various forms of assistance. The bureau has also helped 35 foreign trade enterprises from Hohhot participate in international exhibitions in countries like Brazil.
Hohhot Paishe Cashmere Products Co collaborates with Inner Mongolia University of Technology's School of Light Industry and Textile, offering internships and practical positions to students. The Hohhot Cashmere Association is encouraging industrial parks to attract cashmere enterprises and establish comprehensive industrial zones.
