The 2026 "Hohhot is so HOT" Spring Festival celebration series has officially kicked off. This winter extravaganza blends the romance of ice and snow with cultural charm, athletic passion, and the warmth of local traditions.

The Fifth Hohhot Happy Ice and Snow Festival launched at Dahei River Military Culture Park on Dec 31. Chilechuan Grassland Ice and Snow Season unveiled a 20-meter snowman and offered experiences like snowmobiles. Hasuhai Winter Fishing Festival revived ancient fishing and hunting traditions, while Donghe Ice Rink focused on family fun, with activities like ice biking and skating creating cozy shared moments.

In the coming days, the Hohhot Museum will host a special exhibition on horse culture. The Suiyuan General Government Office Museum will feature immersive performances and exhibitions showcasing restored office sites. The Princess Princess Heshuo Kejing's Mansion Museum will recreate a Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) princess's wedding through detailed scene replication and role-play. The Five-Pagoda Temple Museum's Lantern Festival will integrate distinctive lanterns with ancient architecture.

The second CBA Club Cup Finals (Hohhot Division) will take place from Feb 6 to 12, alongside the launch of the Public Ice and Snow Season.

City-wide Chinese New Year goods markets will offer unique specialties, including special noodles and sea buckthorn berries from Qingshuihe county, as well as dried goods and fresh foods from Togtoh county and Wuchuan county, providing residents and tourists with a one-stop Chinese New Year shopping experience.
