Hohhot approves National Grass Industry Technology Innovation Center
The National Grass Industry Technology Innovation Center was approved for construction in Hohhot on Jan 21, making it the city's second national technology innovation center. This breakthrough marks a new phase in China's grass industry technological innovation and will further support its regional and national high-quality development.
The center aims to create a strategic innovation platform characterized by the convergence of scientists, entrepreneurial endeavors by business leaders, and the integration of industry, academia, and research. Led by the M-Grass Group, the center is a collaboration involving leading enterprises such as Modern Farming Co and renowned research institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources, along with over 100 other entities. The center is spearheaded by academicians such as Feng Qi and includes several top industry experts and research teams.
The center will establish five regional centers in five representative areas: the "Northeastern China cold region", the "North China temperate region", the "Northwestern China arid region", the "Southern China warm region", and the "Qinghai-Tibet Plateau alpine region".
It will also create four research institutes, with a headquarters in Hohhot focusing on "grass variety breeding and efficient seed production", "high-quality forage production and efficient utilization", "grassland ecological restoration and sustainable use", and "integration and innovation of intelligent equipment".
