Over 30 travel agents and 13 top social media influencers from the Greater Bay Area (GBA) arrived in Hohhot on Jan 16.
Upon collecting their luggage and reaching the arrival hall, they were greeted with a stunning flash mob performance by the Ulan Muqir art troupe. The Hohhot municipal bureau of culture, tourism, radio, film and television also prepared some special cultural and tourism gifts for them.
The group visited various attractions, including Mazongshan Ski Resort, and the diverse and distinctive local cuisine over the three days left the visitors impressed.
Many visitors said that the trip changed their preconceived notions about Hohhot. Social media influencers offered suggestions for the city's cultural and tourism development, such as adding more photo spots featuring the "Hohhot" name.
Staff members from the Hohhot municipal bureau of culture, tourism, radio, film and television considered the suggestions and invited the visitors to return to Hohhot for Spring Festival celebrations.
As the three-day trip came to a close, Hohhot received more good news: a special train for ice-and-snow study tours from Guangdong is set to depart soon, and a direct flight route from Hong Kong is being planned.
