Hohhot's mayor shares cooperation insights with Greater Bay Area
He Haidong, a deputy to the National People's Congress and mayor of Hohhot, expressed his insights for the development of Hohhot and cooperation with Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
"In recent years, Inner Mongolia autonomous region has actively integrated into the national regional coordinated development strategy, expanding cooperation with the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Greater Bay Area. Since the CPC Inner Mongolia Committee proposed the '1571' work plan, Hohhot has further deepened its cooperation with the Greater Bay Area in various fields, including economy, trade, culture, tourism and cultural exchanges."
Speaking about open cooperation with the Greater Bay Area and other regions, he noted that as cooperation has deepened, Hohhot has found that the Greater Bay Area is a key benchmark for learning, and highly complementary to Hohhot's resources, strengths and distinctive advantages. The potential and scope for future cooperation are considerable.
He stated that, in the next phase, there are multiple avenues to further deepen cooperation. Establishing a regular communication mechanism will help promote Inner Mongolia's products in the Greater Bay Area while attracting capital, technology, and talent from the region.
By leveraging Inner Mongolia's advantages in energy, resources and application scenarios, and combining them with the Greater Bay Area's advantages in industry, markets, and manufacturing, the two sides will focus on key areas such as new energy, intensive processing of green agricultural and livestock products, and integrated cultural tourism to create a new batch of landmark cooperation projects.
Hohhot will further strengthen the "Greater Bay Area R&D + Inner Mongolia Manufacturing + Global Market" model and address technological challenges in fields like clean energy, bio-breeding and the digital economy.
