Hohhot Economic and Technological Development Zone targets ambitious goals
The Hohhot Economic and Technological Development Zone held a conference on April 8 to promote high-quality development, where 63 outstanding enterprises were recognized.
The conference set a goal for the development zone to become a modern industrial park with a total industrial output value exceeding 100 billion yuan ($14.63 billion) by 2030.
The meeting honored 63 enterprises that excelled in the 2025 awards across five categories: economic contribution, technological innovation, employment promotion, green development, and Party building.
By the end of last year, key indicators for the Hohhot Economic and Technological Development Zone were expected to have steadily risen.
The main anticipated targets for 2026 include achieving a total industrial output value of 58 billion yuan for above designated size (those with annual output value of 20 million yuan or more); completing a fixed asset investment of about 5.8 billion yuan; and reaching a general public budget revenue of around 2.6 billion yuan. All would mark year-on-year increases of around 10 percent.
The plan includes implementing 121 projects this year based on a total investment of 53.7 billion yuan, with 10.4 billion yuan to be invested by the end of December. That includes one industrial project exceeding 10 billion yuan and seven projects each worth over 1 billion yuan.
