China's most distant offshore wind power project, the Three Gorges Jiangsu Dafeng 800MW offshore wind farm, has achieved full-grid connection, ushering in a new stage of offshore wind power development, particularly in deep-sea areas.

As the core supporting unit, Jiangsu Zhongtian Technology, or ZTT Group, based in Rudong county in East China's Jiangsu province, played a crucial role throughout the construction process. The company provided a complete set of submarine cables and accessories and managed the entire process of cable laying and turbine installation.

The ZTT team utilized technological and managerial innovations to overcome difficulties faced during construction. The team completed the installation of all 98 turbines in less than six months, with the fastest installation cycle for a single turbine taking just 40 hours.

In the critical cable laying phase, the team faced arduous conditions like dense shoals and rapid currents. By employing innovative techniques, they successfully navigated these challenges. The installation of 198 kilometers of 220kV and 194 km of 35kV submarine cables was completed in under six months.

The project is expected to generate over 2.8 billion kilowatt-hours annually at full capacity, supplying power to approximately 1.4 million households and supporting the ongoing energy transition in the Yangtze River Delta region.
