Huangshan city has formed a number of Xin'an medical key enterprises such as Tianmu Pharmaceutical and Nanjing Tongrentang, and there are 10 pharmaceutical manufacturing enterprises above designated size – with an annual revenue of 20 million yuan or more – in the city, with the added value of the biomedical industry currently amounting to 1.18 billion yuan.
Huangshan has initially formed industrial clusters in subdivided fields such as traditional Chinese medicine production, medical equipment and biological extraction.
To promote the development of Xin'an medicine, Huangshan city signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Institute of TCM-X, Beijing and Anhui University of Chinese Medicine.
In addition, the city also strives to collect Xin'an medical characteristic preparation, folk prescription. So far, 63 kinds of hospital preparations with clear clinical use data have been collected, as well as more than 120 kinds of folk prescription testing.
Huangshan city attaches great importance to the inheritance and promotion of Xin'an medicine. It has established the cooperation promotion mechanism at the provincial and municipal levels, and has issued several plans to introduce biomedical enterprises.
At the first China (Huangshan) Xin'an Medicine Development Conference that was held last year, 15 biomedical related projects were signed onsite, including projects for the construction of a traditional Chinese medicine production base and a biotechnology laboratory.
