Tangmo village

chinadaily.com.cn| Updated: August 5, 2022

Tangmo village, in Qiankou town, is an ancient place built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

Walking into the village, the first thing to see is a simple, elegant and serene Huizhou-style garden. Streams flowing through the village pass under small stone bridges, climb over the dams and become artificial waterfalls. Dozens of giant camphor trees on both sides of the river offer protection from the sun and are evergreen all year round.

The Tangan Garden is one of the most popular destinations for tourists. It was established by a wealthy businessman named Xu in the Qing Dynasty to satisfy his 70-year-old mother's desire to see the West Lake in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province. The garden boasts typical design elements of the West Lake such as the "Three Pools Mirroring the Moon" and the "Pavilion in the Middle of the Lake".
