First called Chencun Reservoir and now called Taiping Lake, this enchanting area is a national 4A-rated attraction located in the Huangshan district of Huangshan city in Anhui province.

It is a large man-made reservoir in the upper reaches of the Qingyi River.

With a total area of 88 square kilometers, it is 48 kilometers long from east to west, 6 km wide at the widest from north to south and only about 150 meters wide at its narrowest point.

The lake is mainly used for flood control, irrigation and power generation, but also used for shipping and aquaculture.

As a must-see tourist destination for many tourists, it is famous for its glorious terrain and scenery, earning it the nicknames of the "Geneva of the East" and "uncut emerald", among others.

Moreover, it is a natural link between Huangshan Mountain and Jiuhua Mountain – only 30 kilometers away from the north gate of Huangshan Mountain and the south gate of Jiuhua Mountain.
