In recent years, photography enthusiasts in Huangshan have been pleasantly surprised to see more exotic species of birds arrive in the area. From the beginning of May every year, local photographer Wu Chengquan enjoys posting pictures on social media of the Amur paradise flycatcher (Terpsiphone incei), which migrates to the Xixinan Wetland.

With the latter's population growing at this popular wetland with each passing year, the area has become a hot spot for bird watchers.

Zhou Yilin, a photography enthusiast, said he has visited the Xin'an River and Meilin Wetland the most in recent years because the hordes of herons and other birds that gather there make for magnificent views.
