A global tea industry event called the 2023 Keemun Dialogue – focusing on the world's top three high-fragrance black teas – was held in Qimen county, administered by Huangshan city in Anhui province on Jan 9.
The event attracted experts from India, Sri Lanka and China to explore the development trends of the international black tea industry.

Keemun is the old spelling of Qimen. It is said that Qimen Black Tea is among the favorite black tea varieties of the British royal family and is known for its distinctive and fruity taste.

The area under tea cultivation in Qimen county last year reached an estimated 190,000 mu (12,666 hectares). A total of 7,300 tons of tea was produced in 2022, worth 5.52 billion yuan ($813.42 million).
"I hope the Qimen black tea industry will take this event as an opportunity to bring tea drinking back into fashion," said Wang Qing, president of the China Tea Marketing Association.

In addition, a series of new products related to Qimen Black Tea made their debuts and the first batch of new product distributors signed contracts at the event.
