A special China-Europe freight train loaded with 90 tons of epoxy resin in 40 containers on Jan 13 left Huangshan Xinjia Fine Chemical Material Co Ltd – a manufacturer based in Huangshan city in Anhui province.

It passed through Yiwu Land Port and made its way towards Minsk, the capital city of Belarus.

This was the first China-Europe freight train to Belarus to be launched by Huangshan city in 2023. It is scheduled to arrive at its destination, via the Alashankou Port border checkpoint, in 30 days.

Previously, almost all of Huangshan Xinjia Fine Chemical Material Co Ltd's epoxy resin products were transported to Eastern European countries by sea. Due to the distance and customs clearance restrictions, there were many uncertainties in the time it took for the goods to reach their destination – generally more than 40 days.

With the new railroad route via Yiwu Land Port through the China-European freight train to Minsk, it's estimated that 10 days of that can be saved.

In 2022, Huangshan Transportation Investment Group – the operator of the new rail route – shipped over 1,000 TEUs, or twenty-foot equivalent units, which is the standard container size.

That was an increase of 288 percent year-on-year and it the saved logistics costs of more than 2 million yuan ($298,486) for its client enterprises and helped reduce their carbon emissions by 130 tons.
