The Citied Utopia project located in the Tunxi district of Huangshan city in Anhui province was honored on Jan 18 as the 2022 Best Eco-tourism Destination by China National Travel magazine, which is a major publication that showcases the development of China's tourism industry.
The project is located in downtown Huangshan, where many popular tourist attractions are situated, including Liyang-in Lane, a national 4A-rated attraction. Inside it are community facilities such as golf courses, medical aid stations, theme parks and premium hotels.
Before making its judgement, the selection committee selected a total of 64 cases in 20 categories of cultural and tourism service brands and destinations over a period of four months.
The results came in after big data calculations were made by the China National Travel Strategy Research Center and the opinion of experts in the cultural and tourism industry and the general public was taken into account.
