The Lantern Festival was celebrated with gusto on Feb 5, with a number of fun folk activities held the day before in the Tunxi district of Huangshan city in Anhui province.
Some 400 sets of lantern riddles were also arranged along Tunxi Old Street to generate more festive vibes. Those who guessed the answers got themselves a prize then and there.

"Today's show is so wonderful! We all enjoyed it and we didn't expect to see such a wonderful show on our doorstep, making it even more enjoyable," said resident Zhang Jun.
Another resident, Ning Yuan, was equally delighted. "I heard there were Lantern Festival activities today, so I put on my traditional Chinese costume and went there," Ning said. "It's so lively here and I could feel the charms of our Huizhou culture," Ning added.
