Shexian county in Huangshan city held a press conference on March 12, and it aimed at tapping into local cultural and agricultural resources while helping to boost economic growth.

Shexian county boasts a rich array of spring flowers, with over 10 large viewing sites and plum blossoms, rapeseed flowers, peach blossoms, pear blossoms, azaleas and more competing to impress tourists.
Shexian county will also hold a series of colorful activities this spring to attract more visitors, ranging from road trips to a cycling competition, a fish-shaped lantern festival and a tea-making competition.
This year's spring flower-viewing tours in Shexian county are expected to attract more than 3.5 million visitors and earn more than 2 billion yuan ($290.40 million) in revenue.
In recent years, Shexian county has introduced camping, academic study tours, as well as bonfire and firework shows to boost local tourism.
