Founded during the Song Dynasty (960-1279) and nestled beside the Lyushui River, Mingzhou village is administered by Liukou town in Xiuning county of Huangshan city, Anhui province, and is well known for its high-quality Mingzhou green tea.

The organic tea plantation is located on some fan-shaped topography at the source of the Xin'an River, with fertile soil and a humid climate. Together, these form an excellent natural environment for the cultivation of local Mingzhou tea.

The 770 mu (51.33 hectares) of organic tea gardens in the territory have been certified as meeting the EU's organic standard for 24 consecutive years, and the town of Liukou has received municipal recognition for its green prevention efforts and control of pests in the tea gardens for three straight years.
