Tea company Chakoule Biotechnology (Huangshan) Co Ltd has completed a total output value of 90 million yuan ($13.09 million) in just four months in Huangshan. So, how did this startup achieve such quickfire success?

Noting that Huangshan city has established a solid foundation for the tea industry and offers a solid business environment, Chakoule Biotechnology chose to settle in Jiulong Industrial Park in Tunxi district at the end of 2022. It is mainly engaged in producing tea tablets that are free of sugar, fat and colorings.

"We've so far completed a total output value of 90 million yuan, and e-commerce sales accounted for 85 percent of our annual sales," said Li Yao, CEO of the company.

In addition to various marketing channels, Chakoule Biotechnology (Huangshan) Co Ltd gave top priority to R&D, innovation and brand cultivation.

In 2022, the company worked with Zhejiang University and invested in 5 million yuan in research and development. As a result, newly developed products such as scented tea tablets have proven a hit with consumers.

Moreover, Chakoule Biotechnology (Huangshan) Co Ltd took pains to explore the special functions of numerous tea varieties and developed a range of new products based on theories borrowed from traditional Chinese medicine.

"We moved our production line here because of Tunxi's superb business environment. Huangshan's thriving tea industry is also conducive to our business," said Li.

Li added that this year the company's sales are expected to reach 80 million yuan, and it is confident of greater development moving forward.
