With a theme of "Inheritance and Innovation of Xin'an Medicine, Vitalization, and Development of Chinese Medicine", the conference focused on promoting Xin'an Medicine, which is based on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and characterized by regional culture, and has a long history that can be traced back to the Jin Dynasty (265-420).

"Xin'an medicine is a bright cultural symbol of Anhui province and it is now in the stage of high-quality development," said Xu Jingshi, a master in TCM.

An apprentice-taking ceremony was also held on site. Xu and other TCM masters accepted their apprentices, who aspire to inherit and develop TCM.
