Huangshan city's tea shines at international expo

The city of Huangshan is reaping great results at the ongoing 16th Anhui International Tea Industry Expo – which kicked off on May 5 in Hefei city, the capital of East China's Anhui province and runs through to May 8.

This year's tea industry expo has as its theme "Anhui Tea Embraces the World" and it has attracted over 700 participating businesses as well as 2,300 buyers and distributors.

Huangshan signed up three tea-related projects worth 320 million yuan ($46.3 million) on May 5. They included the Yixian Qingling Mountain tea industry and cultural tourism complex project and the Qimen Black Tea intelligent warehousing logistics R&D operation center project.

Tea producers from Huangshan city are said to be proving to be a big hit at the event. They were awarded top prizes at the Yangtze River Delta Brewing Competition Award Ceremony, with their number of awards ranking first in the Yangtze River Delta region.

Leading inheritors of traditional tea-making techniques – including Xie Sishi, Fang Jifan and Wang Chang – exchanged views at the on-site exchange and promoted the tea brands of Huangshan.
