Dynamic Huangshan city opens up to world

The city of Huangshan in Anhui province is gearing up to host the upcoming 2023 RCEP Local Government and Friendship Cities Cooperation Forum.

Themed with "Regional Cooperation for a Win-Win Future", the event is scheduled to take place on June 9-10 in the city's Tunxi district.

Huangshan has been actively opening up to the world while promoting its high-quality development.

To date, 27 local businesses have participated in 13 expos this year, securing over 300 contacts and orders worth over 1 billion yuan ($141.48 million).

Additionally, business delegations from Huangshan city have visited Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia to promote the city and its investment opportunities.

Huangshan city has also opened tourist routes to various countries and has established 29 international friendship cities, as well as exchanges with scenic spots and schools to embrace more foreign affairs activities.

Moreover, Huangshan is a popular tourist destination with numerous national scenic spots, including UNESCO-listed Huangshan Mountain, as well as Xidi village and Hongcun village.

To promote its inbound tourism, the city offered free tickets to all A-level scenic spots in April, which has really paid off.

Shexian county in the city, for example, received a total of 743,900 tourists during the May Day holiday from April 29 to May 3, a year-on-year increase of 276.47 percent and an increase of 33.01 percent over 2019.
