Huangshan city in Anhui province experienced a surge in tourism during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday from June 22 to 24, thanks to an array of popular colorful cultural and tourism activities and the stunning natural beauty of the metropolis.
Data showed that the city's main scenic spots received 124,000 tourists on the first day of the three-day break, representing a 16.57 percent increase compared with the 2019 numbers.
Tourists were treated to a variety of activities, including a themed light show on Tunxi River Street, hands-on experiences of ancient skills and lifestyles in Qiyun tourism town and special festive activities such as making fragrant sachets and zongzi, or sticky rice dumplings, in local homestays.
In addition, visitors enjoyed magnificent views of the raft of waterfalls in Huangshan during the break.
A group of tourists from East China's Zhejiang province even took photos under Wugujian Waterfall, after parking their motorcycles underneath it, to capture the unforgettable moment.
