A promotional event was staged at the Oriental Pearl Tower Plaza in Shanghai on June 27 to promote and showcase Huangshan city in Anhui province.
Li Baochun, deputy secretary-general of the World Tourism Cities Federation, praised the city for its rich cultural content, great resources, high-quality services and international vision.
He said the metropolis was fast becoming a world-class tourism destination and the federation was committed to helping it collaborate with other international tourism cities.
During the event, a global recruitment accord to create the Rural Life Aesthetic Creative Design Open Competition was announced, inviting designers worldwide to present their ideas inspired by Huangshan's countryside.
Various summer cultural tourism products and packages were unveiled, including a partnership between online travel agency Ctrip's Cultural Tourism Industry Alliance and the Huangshan municipal cultural and tourism bureau.
In addition, Shanghai University signed a contract with the Huangshan municipal government and Huangshan College to establish the International Communication Research Institute in Huangshan.
The Mod'Art International Institute of Fashion and Arts at Shanghai University also showcased a creative fashion show on site.

Furthermore, the attendees visited the Huizhou Midsummer Night Cultural and Creative Bazaar in the plaza of the Lujiazui's Oriental Pearl Tower, where they were able to taste wonderful Huizhou cuisine.
