Producer Huangshan Best Organic Tea Co Ltd – based in Huangshan city in East China's Anhui province – has recently achieved significant milestones in the international tea market.

According to statistics, the company exported an impressive 12,500 metric tons of tea in the first nine months of the year, generating around $40 million in export revenue. This represented surging growth of over 60 percent compared with the same period last year.

Cheng Fushou, the general manager of the company, attributed its recent success to its primary focus on the tea export trade, with its products now reaching over 40 countries and regions, including Uzbekistan in Central Asia.

Huangshan Best Organic Tea Co is just one example those benefiting from the city's proactive participation in the Belt and Road Initiative.

The Huangshan-Hefei-Tashkent "special tea train" was inaugurated in August 2021, enabling Huangshan tea to be transported worldwide through a combination of the China-Europe freight train and sea-rail transportation.

Moreover, the city has hosted various key events this year, including the 2023 RCEP Local Government and Friendship Cities Cooperation Forum and the first Trilateral Young Rural Leader's Exchange Program.

These collective efforts are said to be a means to integrate Huangshan into the new framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, bolster the city's repute as a promising hub for international exchanges and cooperation and introduce Huangshan tea to a global audience.
