The 24th Central China (Hunan) Agriculture Expo, or CCHAE was held in Changsha city – located in South Central China's Hunan province – on Oct 27-31.

At the show, products from Huangshan city – situated in East China's Anhui province – proved to be particularly popular.

The event attracted more than 5,000 companies from over 20 provinces and cities across China and featured the participation of three honorary guest countries, including Laos.

Huangshan attracted attention with its main exhibition hall covering an impressive 200 square meters. The city showcased over 100 specialties – including Huangshan Maofeng tea, Taiping Houkui tea and Qimen black tea – underscoring the premium quality of its green and organic food industry.

Since its inception in 1999, the CCHAE has been a massive success – featuring more than 210,000 special agricultural products and a cumulative total transaction value of 259.5 billion yuan ($35.46 billion).

Representatives from participating companies in Huangshan city expressed their commitment to effectively utilizing the expo. They said their goal was not only to promote Huangshan's specialties, but also to convert visitor interest into long-term customer loyalty.

Recent years have seen Huangshan intensify its efforts to enhance the high-quality development of its green food industry and accelerate the city's transformation into a thriving agricultural hub.

From January to September, the total output value of its six main industries – including tea and traditional Chinese medicine – hit 74.95 billion yuan. What's more, the city is now pushing forwards with the growth of cultural and creative brands inspired by the local Zhuangyuan culture.

Zhuangyuan refers to the individual who achieved the highest score in the imperial examinations system in ancient China.
