Standards boost development of Qimen's black tea sector

Updated: December 20, 2024

Qimen county, China's black tea hometown in Huangshan, Anhui province, recently released a collective trademark and standards for vintage Qimen black tea. These initiatives are aimed at safeguarding consumer rights and driving the healthy development of the Qimen black tea industry forward.

On Dec 18, the Qimen Black Tea Carnival and the launch of the collective trademark of Qimen Black Tea Association and the vintage Qimen black tea standards were held in Qimen county.

The collective trademark of the Qimen Black Tea Association serves as the certification emblem for Qimen black tea.

To protect this traditional brand, the association ensures that the tea produced under the collective trademark originates from Qimen county and that it adheres to specific production processes and quality control standards.

Unlike regular Qimen black tea, vintage Qimen black tea undergoes natural aging for over five years under suitable storage conditions, resulting in a sweeter and richer taste.

These efforts are all designed to play a key role in protecting intellectual property rights, enhancing brand benefits and promoting the commercialization of Qimen black tea.
