According to the 2025 Chinese New Year Travel Summary by Ctrip, tourism orders in Huangshan during the Chinese New Year period saw a growth of 20-40 percent compared to the previous year, making it a popular destination for experiencing intangible cultural heritage items.
Data from Tongcheng Travel revealed that during the 2025 Chinese New Year holiday, Mount Huangshan Scenic Area ranked among the top 10 most popular scenic spots.
Huangshan offered approximately 520 travel activities across the city from Jan 28 to Feb 4, presenting a cultural feast filled with festive vibes for residents and tourists alike.
Through creative planning, various regions in the city seamlessly integrated intangible cultural heritage with modern tourism, introducing a plethora of colorful experiential activities.
Traditional folk activities like Huizhou fish lanterns and Huizhou opera performances were revitalized with modern light and stage design techniques, making them attractive among visitors.
Furthermore, the city introduced experiential intangible cultural heritage activities, allowing tourists to engage in traditional crafts such as Huizhou paper-cutting, bamboo weaving, and Huizhou ink making.
From the exciting events in core scenic areas to the dazzling fish lanterns in ancient villages, and from the lively atmosphere of intangible heritage markets to immersive educational experiences, Huangshan allowed every visitor to experience the authentic flavors of Huizhou culture during this Chinese New Year.
