Huangshan city's cultural and tourism market flourished during the 2025 Spring Festival holiday, with tourist attractions welcoming 3.31 million visitors, a 38.31 percent increase compared to the previous year.
From Jan 28 to Feb 4, the city's accommodation sector hosted 611,500 guests, a 16.5 percent rise. Homestay overnight stays reached 161,200, a notable increase of 53.6 percent.
Huangshan currently boasts 24 national-level and 78 provincial-level representative intangible cultural heritage items. This Spring Festival, the city prepared over 520 intangible cultural heritage activities, offering up a diverse cultural feast.
The Huizhou Fish Lantern was selected as a key traditional folk custom for promotion. It was the only place in Anhui province to be included in the "top 10 intangible cultural heritage activities" during the 2025 Spring Festival on Meituan Travel.
With nearly 800 years of history, the Zhanqi Fish Lantern is a unique intangible cultural heritage of Huizhou.
During the Spring Festival holiday, Zhanqi village hosted 73,000 visitors, marking a remarkable 457 percent increase.

Mount Huangshan Scenic Area has curated over 100 Huizhou intangible cultural heritage-themed traditional activities for domestic and international tourists. During the eight-day holiday, the Huangshan Scenic Area welcomed over 200,000 visitors.
Thanks to Chinese New Year's recent designation as an Intangible Cultural Heritage item and the China's new 240-hour visa-free transit policy, many foreign visitors chose to visit Huangshan this year to experience an authentic Chinese New Year and the charm of Huizhou culture. The number of inbound overnight tourists stood at 1,048, reflecting a 50.65 percent growth.
