Huangshan's rural industry development thrives

In recent years, Huangshan has been implementing a rural industry vitalization initiative centered around "tea, flowers, herbal, and fish," resulting in improved rural industry development.

In 2024, the city's total agricultural output value reached 13.55 billion yuan ($1.87 billion), with a value-added increase of 8.25 billion yuan, representing a growth rate of 4.8 percent, ranking first in Anhui province in terms of growth rate.

In March 2024, Anhui's first digital management platform for tea, the Huangshan Tea Industry Brain, went online for trial operation. The comprehensive output value of the city's tea industry reached 28.35 billion yuan in 2024.

Beian town in Shexian county developed the tribute chrysanthemum industry and was designated as a national-level strong town for the agricultural sector. The town has 320 hectares of Huangshan tribute chrysanthemum planting area, an annual processing capacity of 15,000 metric tons and an output value of the entire industry chain reaching 3.67 billion yuan.

Qimen county has provided incentives for traditional Chinese medicine entities in various aspects such as cultivation, processing, brand marketing, and subsidized loans, with 15.59 million yuan in cultivation incentives realized in 2024.

In 2024, Huangshan had over 100 processing entities for Huizhou stinky mandarin fish, including 13 large-scale enterprises, accounting for over 80 percent of the province. The annual processing volume of stinky mandarin fish reached nearly 60,000 tons, with a processing output value exceeding 5.7 billion yuan, making Huangshan gradually become the largest processing and distribution center for stinky mandarin fish in the country.
