Updated: March 20, 2025

On March 17, a group of 32 students from 13 Japanese universities embarked on an immersive five-day journey in Huangshan.

They climbed Mount Huangshan and visited Huizhou ancient town, the Anhui Huizhou Cultural Museum, Chengkan village, Xixinan village, and other landmarks, experiencing local intangible cultural heritage and enjoying a night cruise at the Xin'an River Landscape Gallery.

After concluding their activities in Huangshan, they will visit technological innovation enterprises in Hefei to learn about the development of cutting-edge tech such as artificial intelligence.

Through cultural experiences and technological explorations, they delved into  traditional Chinese culture and the vibrant energy of modern development.

Sun Ran, organizer of the event, said that Anhui boasts a rich history due to the ancient villages of Huizhou and a modern vitality fueled by technological innovation. It serves as a window into the diverse facets of China. "We hope that Japanese youth, through this on-site exploration, will not only appreciate the beauty of China's landscapes but also feel the organic fusion of tradition and modernity," said sun.
