Scenic areas across Huangshan welcomed 993,100 visitors during the Qingming holiday, which ran from April 4-6, marking a 37.77-percent year-on-year increase, as innovative tourism offerings boosted its appeal.

Among them, Mount Huangshan Scenic Area welcomed over 95,000 visitors, marking a 26.68-percent increase. Hongcun saw a 15.89-percent rise, attracting 67,500 people, while Xidi drew 26,200 visitors—up 10.94 percent. The Huizhou Cultural Tourism Zone received 74,700 visitors, a 53.55-percent increase. Meanwhile, the Qiyun Mountain Ecological and Cultural Tourism Resort experienced the largest growth, with 61,800 visitors—a year-on-year increase of 121.51 percent.

New spring-themed itineraries, including flower tours and tea culture experiences, complemented by 100 activities across 90 scenic spots, created a seamless travel experience.

The city rolled out 27.61 million yuan ($3.78 million) in tourism vouchers in the first quarter, with another 100 million yuan planned for the second quarter to spur spending.

Cross-industry integration has driven growth, with sporting events like the National Trail Running Championships and study tour programs boosting ancillary businesses. Short dramas filmed locally have additionally fueled a "set-jetting" trend.

As a three-time "Top 20 Wellness Tourism Destination" and a leader in rural tourism, Huangshan continues to redefine travel through boundary-breaking "tourism+" initiatives, proving culture and nature can jointly power regional development.
