Festivals contribute to Laiwu district's development

Towns and sub-districts in Laiwu district, Jinan, have been leveraging their geographical and industrial advantages to organize unique festivals to attract visitors and help local characteristic industries achieve rural vitalization.

For example, Xueye sub-district on July 14 launched a music festival which integrated music, camping and educational tourism.

In March, Gaozhuang sub-district made use of its pear flower resources to hold a cultural tourism festival to boost its cultural tourism industry. Featuring a combination of elements like scenic spots, guest houses, ancient villages, and folk culture, the festival was designed to showcase the unique charm of the sub-district.

In June, Laiwu's Fengcheng sub-district also held a cultural festival themed on rare stones and showcased over 1,000 high-quality exhibits, including rare stones, jade, jewelry, and root carvings, to boost the development of the industry.

The hosting of different festivals has added vitality to rural vitalization efforts in Laiwu district and contributed to the district's economic growth. In the first half of this year, the district's cumulative sales of goods above designated size reached 86.26 billion yuan ($12.03 billion), a year-on-year growth of 10.01 percent.
