The Guilin-Qinzhou Port highway (Yongfu Sanhuang to Liuzhou section) project was included in the "One Map" supervision and implementation of land and spatial planning database on Nov 7. The construction period of this project is estimated to be three years.
The highway project starts from Siding town, Rong'an county, Liuzhou city, and passes through Rong'an, Luzhai, and Liucheng counties. It will end at Changtang town, Liuzhou city. The project covers an area of 487.78 hectares, with a total length of 77.31 kilometers. It is designed to be a dual-direction four-lane expressway with a speed limit of 100 km per hour.
This project is an important part of the Guangxi expressway plan, as it will connect Guilin city to the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration.
The construction of the project will improve the Guangxi expressway network as well as the Pan-Pearl River Delta regional road network. It will relieve the pressure on the existing Guilin-Liuzhou expressway. The estimated investment amount for this project is approximately 12.18 billion yuan ($1.7 billion).
The completion of this highway project will have a positive impact on regional economic development and the local tourism industry.
