Qixing district is situated in the eastern part of downtown Guilin and to the east of Lijiang River. It is a typical peak forest landform area, including all karst landforms, flat hill and plain landforms, and accumulation landforms. There are many karst stone mountains and caves surrounded by water in the district.
Qixing is characterized by its limestone landform and is rich in landscape tourism resources. Lijiang River runs through the district from North to South. Taking a boat, tourists can see Fubo Mountain, Xiangbi Mountain, Chuanshan Mountain and Tashan Mountain. They can also appreciate the landscapes of Putuo Mountain, Yueya Mountain and Longyin rock.
Since the end of 2021, Qixing administers four streets of Dongjiang, Qixing, Lidong and Chuanshan, as well as Chaoyang township and the overseas Chinese tourism economic zone.
