On Sept 24, the 21st China-ASEAN Expo and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit opened at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center in Guangxi. A delegation from Guilin participated in the opening ceremony and a series of investment and trade activities, including a signing ceremony for investment projects.
Agreements were signed on 16 projects in Guilin with investments exceeding 500 million yuan ($71.26 million), ranking among the top in the region, with a total contract amount of 14.99 billion yuan.
Among the 16 projects, 14 were secondary industry projects with an investment amount of 11.99 billion yuan, representing 80 percent of the total contract amount. Among them, there were two "Fortune Global 500" companies, three unicorn companies, and specialized and new enterprises, demonstrating Guilin's significant achievements in adjusting its industrial structure and strengthening enterprises.
In addition, there were five projects from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with three investments from Hong Kong, a testament to Guilin's achievements in undertaking the industrial transfer work of the Greater Bay Area.
The signing of these high-quality project agreements will promote Guilin's industrial upgrading and innovative development, injecting momentum into Guilin's high-quality economic development and providing powerful industrial support for building Guilin into a world-class tourism city.
Guilin will also host the 2024 Guilin World-class Tourism City Industry Investment Promotion Conference on Sept 26, featuring a special session for investment promotion and signing activities.
