Located on Liusi Mt in Tangjiawan, Zhongshan Park opened on October 10, 2011 to commemorate Sun Yat-sen (1866-1925) and the 100th anniversary of the Revolution of 1911. It is the site of the 1932 Zhongshan Park ruins. The dilapidated buildings left in the park still stand there in witness of an eventful time of yore.
Zhongshan Park presents a smooth integration of natural scenery, and historical and cultural landscapes. The bronze statue of Sun Yat-sen is erected in front of the mountain, which is covered with lush trees, and forms the main part of the park. Major scenic spots in the park include Zhongshan Gate, Ancient Banyan-Wrapped Rock, Pavilion Viewing Waves, Nine Members Discussing Politics, Thought-Provoking Afterglow, Venus and Meditation, Universal Peace, and Bamboo Songs. It distinctively features historic anecdotes, environmental characteristics and commemorative meaning.
