Prelude to Halloween: cosplay shows at Chimelong

Evenings of youthful anime, comics, and video games will take place at Hengqin Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort on all but three days from Oct 13 to 31 involving more than 200 cosplayers.

To be held for the third time, the program is designed to appeal to those fond of "nijigen," a Japanese word for the two-dimensional realm of anime fiction or fantasy, it was announced on Oct 11.

Participants will wear marine element costumes and fashion accessories to represent cartoon or video game characters. They will interact with visitors at a venue decorated to resemble a deserted village.

According to a manager, the party is part of an extravaganza in celebration of Halloween on Oct 31, and will start at 6 pm, except on Oct 16, 17, and 23.
