The city's important economic and social development areas have benefited from strict quality requirements in the primary system established by 12 national and provincial standardization technical committees based in Zhuhai.

Local enterprises and public institutions have led or participated in formulating or amending 55 international, 487 national, 446 occupational, and 133 local standards. A local official expressed confidence that the standards improvement endeavor will eventually facilitate industrial upgrades in the city.
