On the bright side, shared bikes comfiest in Zhuhai

updated : 2017-10-23

With 159,000 shared bikes, Zhuhai has the highest utilization rate of U-bicycle shared bikes in Guangdong Province, U-bicycle announced recently and Mobike, one of the leading bike on-demand companies in China, agreed.

Even tourists have joined the bike-share craze sweeping the city, with the number at scenic spots soaring during peak holidays. Statistics show that the utilization rate of shared bikes in Zhuhai increased by 150 percent during the May Day and National Day holidays, while that of Ofo bikes rose by 190 percent to rank sixth in the country.

In addition to the concept of green travel, Zhuhai offers favorable infrastructure and atmosphere, said U-bicycle's local head.

Nonetheless, a sound greenway network and atmosphere of giving way to pedestrians at zebra crossings are two of the most important factors behind the bike-sharing boom. As one generates enthusiasm, the other ensures safety, according to surveys conducted by related companies.

Shared bikes are playing an increasingly important role in solving urban traffic congestion, an official from the municipal traffic police department declared.
