Rossini industrial design center has national status

Zhuhai Rossini Watch Industry Ltd has joined Gree Electric Appliances as the second enterprise in Zhuhai to be designated a National Industrial Design Center, according to a list released by the Ministry of Industry & Information Technology.

The nomination is the highest recognition in the country for industrial design centers. Only those with prominent innovation capability, distinctive characteristics, standardized regulations, outstanding performance, and high-level development can qualify. Forty-three industrial design centers and four industrial design enterprises shared the honor this year.

Rossini is a domestically renowned timepiece maker subordinate to Hong Kong-listed China Haidian Holdings. Its predecessor was a watchcase manufacturing plant opened by a Swiss businessman in Singapore. In 1984, Rossini moved to Zhuhai and is the only Chinese timepiece company to be rated as an Asia’s 500 Most Influential Brand.

Founded in 2012, Rossini's industrial design center has surged ahead in the country regarding the number of testing, experimental, and R&D equipment as well as technologies. It has introduced world-class timepiece design and manufacturing systems and is the only enterprise in China to have a complete watchcase production line. 

The center has the Guangdong Engineering & Technology Research Center and an post-doctoral scientific research workstation. Its self-development abilities extend from core technologies to product appearance. In 2015, the center was listed in the first batch of Industrial Design Centers of China light Industry and Guangdong Industrial Design Centers.
