Zhuhai leaders to convene, map year ahead in January

The 5th Session of the 9th Zhuhai Municipal People's Congress will open in Xiangzhou District on Jan 16 to lay out the blueprint of the city's development for the next year.

Announcement of the date and agenda was made at the 10th Session of the Standing Committee of the 9th Zhuhai Municipal People's Congress on Dec 25.

The three-day congress will examine work reports of the Zhuhai Municipal People's Government, Standing Committee of the Zhuhai Municipal People's Congress, Zhuhai Intermediate People's Court, and Zhuhai People's Procuratorate.

Implementation of the 2017 plan for national economic and social development, investment project plans, and budget will be examined. Meanwhile, resolutions for execution of 2018 draft plans will be approved. The director of the Zhuhai Supervisory Commission will also be chosen.

The 2nd Session of the 9th Zhuhai Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) will also take place in mid-January.
