2017 to end with gala of multi-cultural amusements

Spectacular fireworks will be displayed around Zhuhai and Macao on New Year's Eve followed by a variety of activities during the Dec 30 to Jan 1 holiday.

The Ocean Resistance cultural performance will be staged at Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in Hengqin New Area on New Year's Eve, along with seven minutes of fireworks once the clock strikes midnight.

Fisherman's Wharf at Zhuhai Ocean Spring Resort in Jinwan District will be the venue for fireworks shows at 9:15 pm Dec 30 and midnight (12 am) Jan 1.

Residents will have the opportunity to admire Macao's traditional fireworks show at viewing platforms near the Zhuhai International Convention & Exhibition Center in Shizimen. Fireworks will go off over open waters near the Macau Tower once the New Year's bell rings, according to the Macao Government Tourism Office.

Gree Dong'ao Hotel at the Wanshan Marine Development Experimental Zone will also be attractive, providing families with beach treasure hunting and a mass celebration at a park.

Furthermore, a three-day haystack bazaar, which borrows a unique market style from Thailand, will be held in Beishan Village of Nanping Town. Straw sculptures will adorn Beishanli Square, providing insight into exotic art forms.

Also slated is a parade integrating Mediterranean elements into hot spring services at Ocean Spring Resort. Cultural performances featuring characteristics of hot springs around the world will be staged after the parade.
