Hengqin Port/downtown shuttle bus service begins

Kee Kwan Station of Hengqin Port became operational on Dec 28, offering hourly shuttle bus service to and from Hengqin New Area between 9 am and 8 pm daily.

Zhuhai Kee Kwan Motor Road announced that a trip between Hengqin Port and the Intercity MRT Zhuhai Station in Gongbei is priced at 5 yuan (80 cents). The fare between the MRT station and Macao Lotus Checkpoint is 10 yuan ($1.50).

Until now, tourists heading for Macao or Zhuhai would pass through Hengqin Port and then have to take either a taxi or bus to the downtown train station.

For example, one who wanted to get to Hengqin Port from the MRT station had to walk some distance after getting off the bus or transfer half way. The other alternative was an expensive taxi.
