Advanced industries putting up structures in Jinwan

Various projects including medical tests, new-energy vehicle inspection, and health facilities are proceeding full steam ahead at different stages in Jinwan District, granting a good start to map a new urban development pattern and industrial layout.

Zhuhai Int'l Health Harbor

Final touches are being made to the first phase of Zhuhai International Health Harbor at the intersection of Airport Expressway and West Airport Road. Twenty-two small and medium-sized enterprises and startups are in line to initiate biomedicine businesses and investment consultation services.

Covering more than 260,000 sq m, the comprehensive Health Harbor is to handle biomedicine, R&D, and sales among other services under an industry-university-research cooperation mechanism.

Five public service agencies will ensure smooth operation. These include a food-and-drug evaluation and certification center and a laboratory for veterinary medical experiments. 

Groundbreaking of Zhuhai Int'l Health Harbor 

Incubation services will be offered to startups and all will have access to one-stop services ranging from R&D, testing, hatching, investment, financing, and efficient administrative approval.

Construction of Phase I began last August. Floor space of 50,000 sq m has been arranged for experimental and office buildings as well as 130 talent apartments. Included is a laboratory scheduled to be operational in November that will house 19 species of experimental animals.

Engineering and furnishing have been finished on main structures. The square is undergoing concrete pouring and other final touches to be completed right before the handover.

Zhuhai International Power Port

Another complex -- the National (Guangdong) New-Energy Vehicle Power Battery & Electric Driving System Quality Supervision & Inspection Center as well as Zhuhai International Power Port -- is near the groundbreaking stage.

Located at the intersection west of North Airport Road and north of Hubin Road, the project consists of two buildings for experiments and quality tests and one for comprehensive industrial incubation.

Benefiting not only Zhuhai, the center will serve the new-energy vehicle industry in Guangdong and other provinces and cities in South China. When operational, it will reach the highest domestic level within the sector as well as take a lead globally.

According to a project head, the quality test building, which is expected to be constructed quickly, is due for completion in 2020.

Six centers

To fill the layout of Aviation New Town, Jinwan is pushing forward construction of public cultural, civic and industrial service, civic art, and international business centers. Projects will cover floor space of about 760,000 sq m.

A project manager said construction of the 58,000-sq-m Cultural Center is well under way. Encompassing archives and libraries, the facility is slated to strengthen Jinwan's cultural construction and enrich cultural life.

Building A is to be completed in September, and Building B in December.
