Jinwan site blooms into spring for tourists to enjoy

updated : 2018-03-09

The Floral Fields & Watertown scenic spot in Jinwan District is celebrating spring with a variety of activities throughout the month, the district Culture, Sports & Tourism Bureau announced on March 6.

Surrounded by boundless hills and rivers, the scenic spot is also known as Huatian Water Village, a natural eco-park and self-drive tourist destination in Bayi Residential Community of Hongqi Town. It has abundant natural resources that are considered ideal for tourism.

There are more than 33.3 hectares (82 acres) of tall lotus-like musella lasiocarpa (Chinese dwarf banana plants native to Yunnan Province), sunflowers, and daisy-like coreopsis (tickseed), all of which come into full bloom in March.

Areas are designated for flower appreciation, child entertainment, barbecues, outdoor sports, agricultural exhibitions, and vegetable harvesting. Cooking competitions, sightseeing cruises, and such farmhouse treats as Mud-Baked Chicken are among the offerings.
