ZIC racing season closes with a breathtaking finale

A highly anticipated Drift Battle of the 2018 Pan Delta Super Racing Festival (Spring Race) concluded to the sound of roaring engines in Tangjiawan on March 18, reports the Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC). Japanese Orido Manabu, and James Tang and Li Xiaolan from Hong Kong reached the podium.

According to ZIC rules, one "chariot" should closely follow his rival's and try to tail its movements. They will simultaneously change directions when bypassing cones. The two contestants will take turns in the lead. Judges will grade driving techniques and aesthetics to decide who will advance.

In the first round, Tang, the former third-place finisher in the 2016 Red Bull Drift Battle, faced off against hometown compatriot Li. The two were neck to neck at the end of the straight road before an unexpected collision. Fortunately, nobody got hurt and this didn't affect the game.

2018 Pan Delta Super Racing Festival 

Still in good condition, Tang showed a better performance in the second round and extended his edge over Li with several showdowns of high-speed drifting. However, he soon ran into trouble when facing Orido, titleholder of the GT300 in 2013. These breathtaking moments brought the race to a climax.

A race with the lowest threshold in the Pan Delta series, Circuit Hero-Three on the same day is a two-driver event. Partnerships can be male-male, male-female, and female-female. The two contestants must collocate to finish 18 loops to tests both on tactics of motorcades and understanding between players.

Duo Yan Yupeng/Zeng Yingzhuo stood out from among 18 teams and clinched the title with Zhuang Zhijun/Tan Yun and Cai Guanming/Liu Zhiyong at second and third. After the race, champions Yan and Zeng said that they have found their position in the Pan Delta Super Racing Festival and it will be even better in the future.

Pan Delta Super Racing Festival was founded by ZIC Motorsports in 2005. It was made with the intention of spreading the Pearl River Delta racing spirit (especially Hong Kong and Macao) to the rest of China during the spring, summer, and autumn seasons with an eclectic mix of racing categories such as formula, touring car, and motorcycling.
