ZTE, Trustful team up to provide buses for Macao

updated : 2018-04-17

Jinwan District-based ZTE Smart Auto Corp has partnered with Hong Kong-based China Trustful Group Ltd to provide intelligently controlled pure-electric city buses for Macao. The companies' vehicles were displayed at the Macao International Environmental Cooperation Forum & Exhibition (MIECF) 2018 from April 12 to 14.

The strategic partnership was created not long ago. It was said that they will use the Macao market as a jumping-off point for entry into the entire Asia Pacific market. Toward that end, Trustful has had a strategic partnership with Avass Group headquartered in Melbourne, Australia since 2011. Avass produces city and touring electric buses with zero emissions and clean energy.

The vehicles for Macao are either 9.5 m (30 ft) or 12 m (39.4 ft) long, depending on street traffic regulations. Core parts such as electric drive systems, batteries, and electronic control ensure the highest levels of performance, say the companies. A lightweight aluminum body boosts mileage to 260 km (163 miles), even with a full load.

An intelligent power management system relying on ZTE's expertise in smart applications is called the key to smooth operation. Real-time monitoring records running and charging status and monitors the battery and electric applications. And, an external power supply allows for more-effective charging and longer battery life.

ZTE was established in Sanzao Town of Zhuhai in 2016. It produces high-quality buses and intelligent integrated transportation solutions and services. With the growing popularity of its electric buses, the company is targeting the international market and has sought cooperation with many industry elites.

China Trustful Group was founded in 2008. The company is principally engaged in sourcing and procurement solutions for production of watches, costume jewelries, display and packaging products; retail of silverware; R&D, manufacture and sale of rechargeable batteries, electric vehicles, and related products. In 2016, it acquired Huzhou Xincheng in Zhejiang Province as a production plant for chassis, frame, and body of pure-electric vehicles. Trustful was listed on the Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in January 2011.

The companies will jointly develop, manufacture, and sell electric vehicles while pooling advantages and resources.

Currently, ZTE is cooperating with customers in more than 10 countries and regions, including Italy, Algeria, the Netherlands, and Germany.

MIECF is a premier event initiated by the government of the Macao Special Administrative Region. It nurtures business through technology and information exchanges between the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region and international markets. This year's event focused on the "Shaping of Eco-Cities for an Inclusive Green Economy," which coincides with ZTE's commitment to promoting green transportation.
